Also underlying the postcolonial nature of contemporary tourism: biggest attraction of east africa was hunting, tour operators still rely on images that display differentiation between the destination and home, empirical research supports the importance of unspoilt environment being attractive for tourism, perception of quality destination is closely associated with factors relating to its natural characteristics, relaxing environment, cleanliness, quietness were all factors that were listed to be of importance as well, tourism can be interpreted as a form of consumerism, centred among consumption of experiences.
