Just keeping a relationship secret increases the attractiveness. E. g. having partners communicate using foot under the table, either known by other partners or kept it secret. Those who communicated using feet rated their partner as more attractive. Those who communicated in secrete rate their partner as more attractive. We are physically attracted to not only people but other objects. Infants as young as 2-3 month prefer attractive people. Associated with increased salary ( for every point of increase for woman) Higher teacher"s evaluation (4. 5/5 vs 3. 5/5) = advantages for keeping the job. More beneficial for men, older people, and in occupations held traditionally by men. The salience of attractiveness stereotypes depends on culture. Beautiful = good, so crimes = those who are not attractive. Attractive people are even more likely to be find guilty after deliberation. More harshly punished when they cannot meet a higher standard.
