The need to form close interpersonal bonds with others is a fundamental part of human nature. We are drawn to physically attractive people. Infants as young as 2-3 months old show a preference for looking at photos of attractive people than unattractive people. Physically attractive people experience many benefits, including a greater likelihood of being hired for a job, higher starting salaries, and bigger raises biological explanations. People may want to associate with people that are attractive because it could lead to social profit. People who are standing with others that are attractive seem more attractive than those who are standing with unattractive people. These generalizations may seem to make sense but this really only occurs when asking about short term and casual preferences.
