Involved in learning of new emotional reactions to stimuli that have become associated with a significant event. Eye blink conditioning: clap hands or blow air towards the eyes; if air puff is preceded by a brief tone, the person will learn to blink when tone comes on anticipating the air puff. It is believed that blocking and overshadowing occur because predicted cs is less effective. Sign tracking: animals tend to approach and contact stimuli that signal the availability of food, hawk; sight and noises of a mouse some distance away are cues indicating the possibility of a meal. Localized visual stimulus before delivery of food: pigeons had a small circular key that could be illuminated and that the pigeons could peck, the key of light was illuminated for 8 seconds before each food delivery. Quail experiment: cs was a wood block lowered 30 seconds before a female partner(us) was released on opposite end of chamber.
