There are various forms of commitments that revolve around organizational commitment, including: affective commitment defined as a desire to remain a member of an organization due to an emotional attachment to, and involvement with, that organization (sadness) The erosion model suggests that employees with fewer bonds will be most likely to quite the organization. Embeddedness is an employee"s connection to and sense of fit in the organization and community: normative commitment defined as a desire to remain a member of an organization due to a feeling of obligation (guilt) Focus of commitment is defined as the people, places and things that inspire a desire to remain a member of an organization. Organizational commitment decreases the chances of 1 and 4 to happen, and increase the chances of 2 and 3 to happen. Withdrawal comes in the form of exit (physical) and neglect (psychological) Psychological withdrawal consists in actions that provide a mental escape from the work environment.
