Synesthesia is a condiion in which perceptual or cogniive aciviies (ex. listening to music, reading) trigger excepional experiences (ex. colour, taste) Seeing the colour red when you hear the word train is an example of synesthesia. Emoional synesthesia a condiion in which speciic simuli are consistently and involuntarily associated with emoional responses . In synesthesia, experiences from diferent senses become paired. Grapheme-colour synesthesia refers to a condiion in which words, leters, or digits are associated reliably with speciic colours. Ludwig witgenstein was a famous synesthete (i. e. , one who experiences synesthesia), for whom the vowel e was experienced as yellow. Physicist richard feynman was famous for being a synesthete. He reported that he saw his formulae in color and wondered what they looked like to his students .
