Communicaion: involves the ways that phonology, syntax, and semanics are used to convey messages to other people and to understand what they have in mind. 2 important concepts: localizaion the idea that the brain acivity that underlies a speciic cogniive funcion is concentrated in a paricular part of the brain. Middle of the let hemisphere, in paricular broca"s area and wernicke"s area. Paricular linguisic funcions tend to be located in paricular parts of the let hemisphere. i. e. damage in lower occipital lobe cause loss of colour vision, lesions to wernicke"s area = inability to say colour names, etc.
