Babur was one of hundreds of descendant of Genghis Khan. His grandfather was a Great Khan, who ruled large lands and commanded large armies. It is said that his uncles, who were Great Khans as well, would order scrimmages against Baburs kingdom from time to time to test his strength; their ultimate wish is to conquer his land, but that never happened. Salt, in his memoir, referred to the loyalty of his soldiers. Salt in his time, was costly and only served at the leaders table. It symbolized the sustenance and opportunities the leader provided and the service the soldier was honour bound to give in return. Withi the system of salt, leaders can command soldiers of different tribes that spoke different languages.
