Almost 4 percent of the total canadian population is one of three aboriginal groups. 33 percent metis that speak a variety of first nations languages, in the west, alberta. 4 percent inuit, smallest group, different dialects, linguistic and geographic diversity among the different regions, arctic canada, nunavut (half), nwt, northern quebec and labrador. 633 first nations bands, 52 nations or cultural groups, more than 60 languages.
