Diverse functions: blood supply of the brain. Lateral surface of the brain: gross features. Olfactory bulb: gyri / sulci / fissures. Neurons involved in audition: cerebral lobes and the insula. Cerebrum subdivided into lobes named after the bones of the skull that lie over them. Central sulcus divides frontal lobe from parietal lobe. Temporal lobe lies ventral to the lateral (sylvian) fissure. Occipital lobe lies at the very back of the cerebrum: bordering parietal and temporal lobes. Visual areas 17 / 18 / 19 in occipital lobe. Somatic sensory areas 3 / 1 / 2 in parietal lobe.
