Document Summary
The liberal says that the unborn is not a person, not a full human being, and therefore does not have a right to life. Liberal will insist that merely being a homo-sapien a creature with human dna is not sufficient for personhood. A fetus satisfies none and is therefore not yet a person and cannot coherently said to have full moral rights. Conservatives will counter that the liberal"s standards for personhood are set too high, for they imply that cognitively impaired individuals -ie. victims of serious dementia, retardation, or schizophrenia are not persons and therefore do not have a right to life.
