Learning- is a process by which behaviour or knowledge changes as a result of experience. Cognitive learning is just one type of learning. Called classical conditioning- learning that occurs when a neutral stimulus elicits a response that was originally caused by another stimulus. In his experiment the sound was the the neutral stimulus. Unconditioned stimulus(us)- a stimulus that elicits a reflexive response without learning. Unconditioned response- unlearned reaction to an unconditioned stimulus. Overtime the tone of the sound began to associate with food as the dog responds. In this case the tone became a conditioned stimulus- once neutral stimulus that later elicits a conditioned response because it has a history of being paid with an unconditioned stimulus. A conditioned response is the learned response that occurs to the conditioned stimulus. Hot water comes when someone flushes the toilet. Jumping back out of the water is the ur.
