PSYA01H3 Chapter Notes - Chapter 4.2: Electromagnetic Spectrum, Color Vision, Face Perception
Document Summary
If there are many wavelengths being viewed at the same, the colour will appear to be washed out . Common visual disorders: most forms of colour blindness affect a person"s ability to distinguish b/w red and green. In ppl who have normal colour vision, some cones contain proteins that are sensitive to red and some cont prot that are sensitive to green. At the optic chiasm, some of the cells remain on the same side and some cross to the opposite side of the brain. If a patient has trouble recognizing ppl it could be a sign that they have damaged the bottom of the right temporal lobe. E. g. , looking at a coffee cup being able to move your hand to drink the coffee. The dorsal stream of vision extends from the visual cortex in our occipital lobe up to the parietal lobe.
