Once survival needs are met, then we can move to higher-level needs such as belonging or the need of self-esteem. When a person reaches his or her full potential as a creative, deep-thinking and accepting human being. (western)culture self actualization is achieved when you put the individual"s needs or goals first. In collectivist (east) culture, needs would be much less important than acting to ensure that everything was getting along community in a whole is successful. Nonetheless, his work is still influential in psychology. Aka affiliation motivation the motivation to maintain relationships that involve pleasant feelings such as warmth, affection, appreciation and mutual concern for each person"s well being. E. g. friendship, kinship or shared group membership. Humans cannot survive without it! just like food and water.
