B=f(p,e): behaviour is a function of the person & environment: freudian theories challenged behaviourism, and focuses on the person"s past history of conditioning. In contrast, social psychologists focused on the present moment, arguing that the situation a person happens to be in at particular time is a key influence on behaviour. Ex) chameleon effect describes how people mimic others non-consiously, automatically copying others" behaviours even w/o realizing it. Mimicry = social glue but some use it to their advantage when wanting to fit into a group (act like some they are not, to be liked) Imitation = sincerest form of imitation: mimicry & imitation are highly used but it becomes a prob in some situation (ex.
