Shorten life span (7 14 years shorter than non-smokers) Lead to lung, mouth, throat cancer, heart disease, and pulmonary disease (emphysema). Factors can be family, local culture, personality characterisics, and socioeconomic status, media. Obesity: is a growing concern in many developed countries. About two thirds of the u. s are overweight. About a billion people worldwide are overweight and about 300 million are obese. Obesity is ied to cardiovascular disease, diabetes, osteoarthriis, and cancer. Obesity is due to a posiive energy balance more calories taken in than expended.
