Aristotle amateur in personality psych; talked about humour, courage, etc. ; we all talk about people"s traits so we all do this. Trait-descriptive adjectives describe characteristics of people, e. g. fred is anxious. Personality set of psych traits and mechanisms within the individual that are organized and relatively enduring and that influence his interactions with, and adaptations to, the intrapsychic, physical, and social environments. Psychological traits characteristics that describe ways in which people are different from each other; e. g. saying someone is shy is a way to say how they differ from outgoing people. Traits also describe how people are similar to others because those who are shy are going to be anxious in social situations. Traits describe the average tendencies of a person e. g. someone who is talkative might have days where they are quiet but on average, they are more talkative than others.
