Cognitive: worry and test irrelevant thinking, tendency for mind to wander when it is difficult to concentrate, anxiety=sense of self as deficient and powerless, situational factors must be taken into account, anxiety disorders. 15 17: common theme across disorders is that dysfunctional levels of anxiety reflect cognitive appraisal processes contributing to perception of anxiety as well as physiological factors that render particular people more vulnerable to anxiety, phobias, phobia. Nomophobia: fear of remaining out of touch with technology, experienced by people attached to their phones, arises as a way of compensating for other types of anxiety, fear of danger > phone provides safety, fear of being left out > social connection, specific phobias.
