PSYB45H3 Chapter Notes - Chapter 3: Applied Behavior Analysis, Behaviorism, Real Change
Document Summary
Behaviour mod- ch 3: using data & research methods in behaviour analysis. Case study of jeremy, 5th grade & problems w/speeches. Collecting data-> can determine whether efforts to change a behaviour are working. Anytime applied behaviour analysis is used-> data must be collected + evaluated. Intervention: program/period of time in which efforts= made to produce a change. Baseline: refers to period of time when intervention is absent or to the data collected during a baseline period. Data-> info abt current status & history of variables (characteristics of ppl, objects or events that can vary); behaviour, its antecedents + consequences= all variables. Baseline data= representative of extent/severity of problem behaviour before intervention begins. Main role of baseline data= to act as reference pt (when comparing results of intervention) Must organize data chronologically-> see how the behaviour has changed overtime. Sometimes-> data (cid:272)a(cid:374) (cid:448)a(cid:396)(cid:455) so (cid:373)u(cid:272)h & do(cid:374)"t p(cid:396)ese(cid:374)t a (cid:272)lea(cid:396) pi(cid:272)tu(cid:396)e; #"s a(cid:396)e all o(cid:448)e(cid:396) the pla(cid:272)e.
