Labiodental (f & v) = top teeth close to bottom lip! Alveolar (t & d) = tongue behind upper teeth! English is based on combination of 40 different phonemes ! Phonemes that differ in one categorization feature sounds similar ! Speech harder to comprehend because - fast, stream of speech does not have distinct markers of where word ends/begins !
