Sensory neurons: conduct info from sensory receptors in / on body into spinal cord and brain. Interneurons: associate sensory and motor activity and cns, association cell interposed between sensory neuron and motor neuron. Motor neurons: carry info from brain and spinal cord out to body"s muscles (a) sensory neurons of many types detect stimulation and info and pass it on to (b) interneuron, sensory neuron interneuron motor neuron. Sensory neurons: simplest structure of neurons, bipolar neuron. In retina of eye has single short dendrite on one side of its cell body and single short axon on the other side: transmit afferent sensory info from retina"s light receptors to neurons that carry info. Brain"s visual centers: somatosensory neuron, bit more complex structure, brings sensory info form body spinal cord, long distance. Interneuron with extremely branched dendrites form fan shape: carries info from cerebellum to rest of brain and spinal cord.
