Wilhelm wundt is regarded as a figure of the first importance his eminence was such that he attracted scholars from around the world to his laboratory to learn his introspective techniques. Wundt also invented a non-experimental approach called cultural psychology that was a precursor of social psychology. Both his experimental & cultural psychologies were challenged and extended by other psychology, notably by ebbinghaus"s pioneering studies of memory and w rzhurg school"s elaboration of introspective psychology. Wundt was born in germany, he studied with both m ller & helmholtz before becoming a professor at. Wundt"s fame in psychology rested on two facts: The first is that he founded the first laboratory in experimental psychology , at leipzig in 1879. Wundt"s approach to psychology extended well beyond the laboratory. He believed that laboratory research was suitable only for relatively simple psychological processes.
