Document Summary

Sociologists are interested in how the human body is marked so it can be socially regulated. Sociologists also study the human body to analyze them as social products, entities that bear the imprint of society. Our bodies reflect both ourselves and our society: central to constructing culture, personhood, and identity. Embodiment: refers to the physical and mental experience of existence: physical: flight-or-fight response, mental: mental health consequences such as ptsd. Cyborg: entities that embody elements both living and dead, human and machine, natural and unnatural. The body and social status: a feminist interpretation. The social values assigned to a person"s height, weight, and perceived attractiveness influence income, health, likelihood of getting married, etc. As income rises in population, parents can better afford to feed their children a higher-quality diet (rich in protein), which will increase the likelihood of growth in their children. Over time, the height of the population gradually increases if replicated.
