Document Summary
B lymph develop into plasma cells secrete antibodies. T either cytotoxic t (attack and destroy) or helper t (regulate other immune cells. Each lymphocyte binds only one particular ligand; all lymphocyte that bind that lifang does a group: clone. At birth, each clone only has few cells, naive lymphocyte. Device via clonal expansion new lymphocyte forms: B lymphocyte become plasma cells and memory cells. Upon detection of antigen, some b differentiate into plasma cells plasma cells synthesize additional antibodies form humoral immunity: the soluble antibodies of the plasma. Primary immune response: after initial exposure (slow, low magnitude ) Antibodies are protein secreted by plasma cells. 4 polypeptide chains (each is y shaped) Each side has one light chain, one heavy chain. Stem of y: fc region: determine class of ig. In each antibody, two light are identical; two heave are identical. They cano destroy antigen, but help immune system react to them. Antibody binds to antigen immune complex.
