Sensitive period: exposure to a specific type of environmental stimulation is needed for normal development of a specific ability e. g. infant expose to languages for 1st few years. Prenatal; 38-40 weeks of pregnancy interfere with development. Fertilizaion & gestation: zygote: initial cell formed when nuclei of egg & sperm fuse.
