Stress: psychological & physiological reaction when perceived demands exceed the existing resources to meet those demands. Cognitive appraisal theory of stress: assessing & evaluating stress in 2 steps: primary appraisal: is this a threat? yes stress response, no no response, secondary appraisal: how to cope with the threat.
