The person & the situation: by understanding the power of situation, we can prevent negative things to occur (or at least minimize it) So that means: unconscious level of our awareness (of who we are) --- constantly shaped & patterned by other people. Chameleon effect - people mimicking others unconsciously, automatically copying others" behaviours even without realizing it: mimicry = social glue, ex. Social norms - the guidelines for how to behave in social contexts: ex. clothes we wear, food we eat, how much alcohol we drink, ex. joking to grandparents vs. joking to friends. Groupthink: tendency towards conformity, social pressures built within groups --- restraining of diversity & creativity, different perspectives --- don"t matter (what the group as a whole thinks matters, arising problems. Inability of each member to express their true perspectives.
