We get the sensory information, for example, we see something. And then the information will be in the short term. We then use the control processes to manipulate that information like chuck it. Somehow, weeks, years, and then it becomes the long-term store. When people talk, they usually talk their long term memory. Within the long term memory, there are different types of the long term memory. Each of the memory build on each other. The episodic memory build on the semantic memory and then the semantic memory build upon the nondeclarative memory. Episodic memory: called the self knowledge (autonoetic consciousness) Mental time travelling, the ability to go back in time and reexperience the event. (tulving thinks that humans are the only species that have this autonoetic memory, to experience the things again. Semantic memory: you don"t have to have yourself in your memory.
