The articles highlight the role that globalization plays in the development of world society. Drezner argues the race-to-bottom caused by globalization relates to the evolution of the world. Race to bottom is defined as deregulation of environment and exploitation of labour to maximize the profit. The author finds the evidence of improving working standards due to the openness of the labor market in developing countries.
