The term composition refers the distribution of the population in accordance with the intersecting characteristic of age and sex. In demographic analysis population data are usually arrayed according to age and sex. A dependency ratio greater than hundred indicates the presence of more dependents than workers and the population. Overall dependency ratio is the sum of the youth and old age dependency ratio.
