Teams and team effectiveness in health services organizations. The effectiveness of teams can impact the effectiveness of the whole organization that the team works in. They can be useful in regards to improving quality in an efficient manner. Work is too complex in health care to not be done in a team. Effective patient care and management are dependent upon teams. They are required to provide effective medical care and take action to solve arising problems. Teams must be highly functional and work effectively in order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of an organization. Advances in medicine are often reported by multidisciplinary teams with good communication. Teams have a defined purpose with membership, structure, leadership, and specific processes. Informal work groups can still have a significant influence on an organization we must be aware of the influence that informal groups have.
