In order to perpetrate racist, sexist, classist outcomes, we have to believe the current economic distribution is unchangeable/always existed and natural. Some people blame class on things people did/didn"t do -> blaming victims. Creates false hope that they can escape the class they were born into by working hard. Creates enough tokens that oppressed believe they can get ahead; blames not succeeding on those who don"t. -----working class need to recognize above in order to take action. Class determines when one is a mother. -- class in socially constructed and all encompassing. Experience classism on the basis of choices (lack of money) or culture (way one talks/acts) To become middleclass means you must abandon your working class ways and accept middleclass ways of living. People experience working class differently based on identity and privilege. Tax free capital gain, guaranteed loans, oil depletion are not recognized as welfare for rich.
