The menstrual cycle has been found to affect women"s mate preferences. During ovulation (high fertility), research has found that women prefer a handsome and/or creative partner, whereas during low fertility points in the menstrual cycle, she is more likely to prefer earning power over looks and creativity (clark, 2005).
