Before children are even one they respond to stress of over infants. One of the major challenges about understanding peoples motivation is that self report are not always an accurate measure. Want to portray themselves in the bets possible light. One of the fundamental pricnples of human behavior is that people are motivated to do things that are personally reinforcing. The most powerful single variable in determing wheter people will make charitable doantions is whether the donation will reduce taxes. Found that one third of those that volunteered donated their time because they had an interest in the activity, would enjoy doing the work, wanted to feel needed. Within psychology there have been three things that people look for. Learning, social and personal experience, arousal and emtion. Theories of acquisition of helping others and why skills should be used to benefit others. How people values can motivate helping both cognitive ( what people think) and affective( what people feel)
