Antisocial personality disorder and psychopathy: a confusion of diagnoses. Bpd and self injury: an important distinction. Enduring pattern of inner experience and behaviour that deviates markedly from the expectations of the individual"s culture (norms), pervasive and inflexible onset in adolescence or early adulthood and is stable over time leads to distress or impairment. Can also cause distress for other people. Can be modified by context (dsm leaves this out) Rates higher in women than in men. Finding what may have contributed to persons death. High rate of suicides are people with pd. More common in minorities, you adults, low ses, divorced, or never married. May cause the affected person little distress. But pd represent a significant health problem for those with the condition (i. e. relationships) and in their association with extensive treatment. Criterion a: cognition, emotions, interpersonal functioning, impulse control. B enduring pattern of behaviour is rigid and consistent.
