Meta-analysis: a powerful statistical technique that involves combining the results of multiple studies to examine the overall e ect of a variable (or intervention) in relation to an outcome of interest to the researcher. Contingency model: a model of leadership that suggests that e ectiveness of speci c leadership styles depends on how much control the leader has over the situation. Task-oriented leadership: a leadership style that involves the pursuit of goal and performance attainment. Relationship-oriented leadership: a leadership style concerned with maximizing the quality of relationships among those being led. Path-goal theory: a model of leadership which suggests that e ective leadership is dependant on the match between the situation and the bahaviours utilized by a leader in that situation.
