Development of cohesiveness would be associated with the behaviour of the coach. Examining the relationships among specific leader behaviour patterns and criteria such as member satisfaction and performance have been very important in determining leadership effectiveness. The lss (leadership scale for sports) contains five subscales and three reflecting behaviours; training and instruction, social support, and positive feedback and the remaining two reflect decision styles; autocratic and democratic. Training and instruction are behaviours by the coach that are geared to improving team member performance. Social support is leader behaviour that are characterized by a concern for the welfare of the individual athletes, the fostering of positive group atmosphere and warm relationships with team members. Positive feedback are behaviors by a coach that reinforce an athlete ny. When coaches engaged in these tactics their groups were proven to be more recognizing and rewarding strong performance cohesive.
