Different disorders involve different kinds of cognitive dysfunction. Most such therapists also use some behavioural techniques to help clients think, behave and feel better. 3 influential cognitive-behavioural approaches: albert ellis, aaron beck, and the second-wave cognitive behavioural therapists. Proved effective for treating depression, social anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, sexual dysfunctions and other psychological disorders. Although disturbed cognitive functioning is found in many psychological disorders, its precide role has yet to be determined. Not clear whether is is at the centre of various disorders. Not clear whether its the behavioural or cognitive features pf approach that most powerfully propel these treatments.
