Eventually, the clicking noise(neutral simulus) prior to the meat powder being presented would cause the dog to start salivaing. The clicking noise did not originally cause the salivaing, but combining the noise with the meat powder for so long created that response. Some scholars have suggested a funcional perspecive on pavlovian condiioning. Phobias can be condiioned from an early age.
