Independent contractors: otherwise known as self-employed, they provide labour services in exchange for compensation. They run their own businesses instead of being hired by another organization. Partners: people who share part ownership in a business. There can be two or more partners in a partnership. Temporary placement organization: a business that helps match workers with businesses that require temporary help; called an employment agency. Volunteer: an unpaid individual who performs services for an organization voluntairy.
