The canadian system is a mixed system. This means even though we posses a capitalist system the government still plays an important role. All developed countries have some sort of economic or business enterprise system that determines: what goods and services are produced and distributed to, how the goods and services are produced and distributed society to society. Capitalism is a type of economic system that is based on a number of fundamental principles including: rights of the individual. Individuals who take precedence in society, as opposed to institutions or the overall society is the notion of capitalism. Aka everyone has the right to pursue self-interest (aka make profits) There are limits placed on people who want to pursue their self-interests and government regulations enforce rules of how business owners conduct business: rights of private property. Individuals have right to own land, labour and capital. Because wealth has been distributed unevenly the government ahs intervened.
