Cell theory: all organisms are made of cells & cells come from pre-existing cells. Prediction is something that can be measured & must be correct if hypothesis is valid. Experimental setups only have 1 difference b/t the 2 treatments. Common ancestry connects all types of organisms. Characteristics of species can be modified from generation to generation. Evolution: is change in characteristics of a population overtime. Individuals within population vary in characteristics that are heritable- traits can be passed off to offspring. Population is defined as a group of individuals of same specifies living in same area at same time. In different environments, certain versions of these heritable traits help individuals survive better or reproduce more than other versions.
