Biopsychosocial model holds that physical illness is caused by a complex interaction of biological, psychological and sociocultural factors. Stress- any circumstance that threatens or are perceived to threaten ones well being and that there by tax ones coping abilities. Persons response to a stressor is influenced by a number of things. Biological factors like age, gender, individuals previous experience with stress. Maybe because of the cumulative nature of stress, stress adds up which collectively can cause much strain. A persons appraisal of events is highly subjective. Acute stressor are threatening events that have a relatively short duration and a clear endpoint. Chronic stressors are threatening events that have a relatively long duration and no readily apparent time limit. Frustration occurs in any situation where pursuit of some goal is thwarted. Failures and losses two common kinds of frustration. Conflict occurs when two or more incompatible motivations or behaviour impulses compete for expression.
