There is a need to join a group. Baumeister & leary: there is an evolutionary trait where belonging to a group helps with survival, people who bond together were better at gathering food and hunting. The need for belonging is more stronger in present day societies. James cameron: groups define who we will be in the future. Belonging to groups helps to promote people to become involved in social change.
