Social psychology- concerned with the way individuals thoughts, feelings and behaviours are influenced by others. Central traits- the effects they can have on the impressions we form of others. Showed that linking the beautiful with the good starts early. Social schemas- organized clusters of ideas about categories of social events and people. Self-schema- integrated set of beliefs, memories, and generalizations about ones behaviour in a given domain. Illusion correlation- occurs when people estimate that they have encountered more confirmations of an association between social traits than they have actually seen. See what they expects to see and overestimate how often they see it. Ingroup-is a group that one belongs to and identifies with. Outgroup- is a group that one does not identify with or belong to. Attributions- inferences that people draw about the causes of events, other"s behaviour, and their own behaviour.
