Chapter 11 consists of microfibrils( long strands of cellulose in cable like structures) and pectins( molecules that are hydrophilic, attract large amouts of water to keep it moist) Turgor pressure incoming water increases cell volume, exerting a force against the wall can cause elongation. Laminins are membrane protiens that bind to extracellular protiens, including laminins , whih turn into binding components of ecm.
