Conduct research prior to interview and prepare questions. Speech has 2 parts: a statement and its proof (aristotle) Don"t misquote, it is embarrassing and you will lose credibility. Illustrations (extended example) - offer more detail, useful in establishing proof. Literal - supply evidence to support points. Figurative - make ideas vivid and clear. Logical - most common, 2 parts, the dictionary definition and and the characteristics that distinguish the term. Operational - explains how an object or concept works. Used to emphasize magnitude of problem, informative. Use only when necessary, can be confusing, make sure easy to read, too much will bore the audience.
