Reflected appraisal- tendency to view to view ourselves based on the approval of others/we are imagining what others might think about us. Peer relationships: seek relationships that provide you with security, can be more influential than parents, behavioral confirmation- seeking acceptance from others, relationship partners, can increase ones feelings of self worth. Attachment theory describes the dynamics of long-term relationships between humans. Identity scripts- rules for living and relating to one another in family contexts. Direct definition- labels families assign to its members that affect the way we define ourselves. Constructive aggressive behavior: argumentativeness, assertiveness, humor orientation, affective orientation.
