The environment: the world and our place in it. More than 1 billion people exposed to air pollution. Emissions from cars, and power plants and heavy industries. Dumping of waste causes bodies of water to be unsafe for drinking, fishing, and swimming. Widespread pollution contaminates water, often in developing countries, and polluted water kills many. Global warming - significant rise in the earth"s surface temperatures that occurs when industrial gases like carbon dioxide trn the planet"s atmosphere into a virtual greenhouse. Some say that population growth is the problem. Others say technological innovations are the prob. People are conscious of limited resources in the world. Environmental refugees - people migrate bc of environmental problems. Green industries - solar panels, biofuels, etc. Poorer countries are being forced to deplete their resources to repay debts to industrialized nations. Focus on alignment of environmentally favorable practices with economic self-interest through constant adaptation and restructuring.
