Thus, only genetic material from gonads contributes to egg or sperm. Changes to somatic (body) tissues does not influence what genetic material goes to egg or sperm. Germ plasm theory only gonads contribute genetic material to sex cells. Evolutionary change by natural selection confined to small continuous variations. Critics: earliest incipient stages of complex organs could have no real function and could hardly be selected for! it"s wrong. Evolution does not imply biological progress towards a predetermined goal. Evolution does not imply ascending towards higher levels of complexity. Evolution explains the history, diversity, adaptation, and complexity of life.
